This baby shower was created for Tegan, she knew exactly what she wanted - a babushka theme as she didn't know the sex of the baby, coral, powder blue and buttercup yellow as her colour scheme and she wanted High Tea to celebrate with her friends and family. Tegan made the design process so easy. Hello Naomi did an incredible job with the cake, it's simplicity is so striking as it complements the wallpaper, fresh flowers and delicious array of sweets. Hello, lovely people, it has been a while since I've blogged and there are a few things to share! Firstly a HUGE thank you to SHOP4 Kids magazine who have always supported Imprintables, back with my first feature of Ethan's party in 2007. It was quite difficult to think of 15 items, I had 25 on my list and asked SHOP to make the cut from my list. My favourites include: The Little Alchemist, Michelle Armas, Hi- Reps Outdoor Fitness, Elk and of course, Hello Naomi. The uber talented Naomi took these great photo's, I'm so grateful to finally have a photo with my boys as I'm usually always behind the camera lens, don't they look cheeky?

Here are a two recent custom designs. This cute little giraffe was created for Alexander who is turning one. Mum wanted a cute blue and brown giraffe for his first birthday invitation.

The babushka baby shower invitation was created for mum-to-be Tegan, the additional note which is to be inserted along with the invitation states:
"What does baby need? I have a list of items in all different price ranges that the Mother to be has suggested. Please call or email me for details so we can shower her with exactly what she needs. With the love, The Host". This is a great way to make sure you get the items you really need. Tegan requested pale blue, coral and lemon as the sex of the baby is a surprise.

Clever mum Hannah created this concept for her daughter Delilah's birthday party, she ordered a customised design invitation in which I worked to her brief of what she envisaged and think the end result truly captures the enchantment of the woodlands! The treat bags were Kraft boxes with a coordinating sticker, wallpaper, bunting and sweet note-sets to thank each guest after the party really ties the whole concept together, thank you Hannah for sharing!

Two invitation options for the Grease inspired party which was custom designed.

Who doesn't love the movie Grease? Olivia's transformation into a vixen dressed in skin tight black Lycra and the super cool dances moves by King Travolta. Georgia from Munchkin Tables created this 1950's diner as the setting. The detailing is spot on with the mix of red and white striped awning and the black chequered tablecloths, vinyl records, splashes of chrome, a jukebox for the children to choose their music to dance too, a lemonade and milkshake stand and hot dogs and french fries to eat has me reminiscing about the times my cousin and I used our hairbrushes as our microphones, big hair - bottles of hairspray, the bed as our stage and our family as our audience...it's GREASE lightning!

Craft party invitation and thank you tag by imprintables. Thought I share with you some activities and inspiration behind the craft party invitation. This is a great party theme for a winter birthday, just invite a small number of friends, use old glass jars and fill with bits and bobs like ribbon, felt, buttons, scraps of paper, fabric, glue, scissors, tape etc. Have a few structured activities like the ones below and then let their imaginations run wild!

Paint your own shoes by Martha Stewart, with canvas shoes being so inexpensive or ask children to bring in an old pair of sneakers, they can be created into mini works of art - love the painted shoelaces too! Here are the instructions here.

The Red Thread have available these great kits which includes a sewing pattern and instructions and a face panel printed on linen/cotton blend fabric.

Purl Bee have a range of great craft activities for children. I found this great tutorial on how to make these heart shaped barrettes here.

Remember making these at school, weren't they all the rage? Friendship bracelets were as nice to be given as to be received.

Hello Naomi styled this ahh-mazing Bumble Bee baby shower on the weekend. Hello Naomi's feast for the eyes {and mouth} included beehive vanilla cake, yoyo cookies, meringues, cupcakes, lemon meringue tarts, honeycomb, milk and honey drinks, ice tea and cheese. It does help when the room hosts a beautiful chandelier, over-sized windows and ornate trimmings. Invitation, iced tea labels and bunting created by imprintables. Loving those Billy Buttons in the milk glass vases.

Katy threw a SPY party and used the hamper boxes to store a 'secret agent kit' that the seven year old guests received upon arrival . Love the hat and black rimmed glasses!

Hello my lovely readers, thank you for your patience, I have been on a hiatus and am ready to share some lovely photos that I have been collecting over my break. but firstly, my beautiful boy Ethan celebrated his sixth birthday.

Due to my past experiences with the weather not behaving as it should when I throw parties I decided to leave it in the hands on an indoor organised event - a pool party in a community swimming pool. My good friend Lena, reminded how how I am quite the party snob and 'frowned' upon mums who held it at venues such as McDonalds but I am now a convert! How easy is it to not have to worry about catering, seating, drinks, napkins, cutlery, glasses, picnic blankets, tomato sauce and the list goes on and on. The night before the party I went to bed at a decent hour and felt very relaxed the morning of, it was a strange not having the stress of remembering to bring half my house with me! The great thing with this venue was the entertainment, two lifeguards were dedicated to the party {and they were lovely!} they set up an inflatable slippery slide in which they tossed and turned so the kids could fall off {Total Wipeout style}, then a swim in the 'wave' pool {simulated waves as if from a beach} and then played pool games and races with them in the water. The food was good ole hot chips and meat pies -the kind of food you feel like after a swim! I am now a huge fan and will now be finding more venues like this for my children's parties.

I have been wanting to play with a yellow and navy colour scheme for a while as it isn't usually colours a boy would pick and had a laugh when I realised these are the colours of their school uniform! I love how the yellow striped wallpaper {available from my shoppe} adds that hint of summer and freshness while the navy adds the masculinity it needed for a sixth birthday.
Hello Naomi {as per usual} created the most amazing baked goodies - Ethan had his cake for breakfast! Her signature cookie lollipops are always a hit! If you want a similar table for your next party Scissors Paper Cake can create something to suit your budget and event.

Master T's Birthday Party

As luck would have it, and I have NONE when it comes to parties, it rained on my wedding {when we were in a drought!}, it rained on Master E's Wet and Wild party in the peak of summer, T's apple party had to be relocated to my home {which was in a state!} due to the monsoon-like pour, T's party this year was no different - it was absolutely freezing, the wind was so fierce and icy you could barely feel your nose and this was in October!!!

Apart from that the children had a lovely time, just being boys I guess, the played traditional games like tug-of-war, bull rush, sack race and just running around.

The party itself looked gorgeous, with the help of the very talented Hello Naomi, who made the most amazing cupcakes I have ever eaten - bubblegum, coca-cola, lemon curd and my absolute favourite peanut butter and jelly. I must say, before you die you MUST, MUST try one of her creations as I can guarantee you will not be able to eat another cupcake apart from hers again. The Peanut and Jelly had the lightest fluffiest peanut butter frosting and in the middle of the cupcake had a dollop of peanut butter and raspberry jelly -this may sound like it would be too sweet but I did see a few of the guests eat {devour} two straight after each other!

Okay, back to the party, I had a few things planned like a photo booth but due to the wind all my papery items could not be displayed. All in all, Master T had loads of fun and that's what counts at the end of the day!

This sweet lady bug party was held by clever mum Renee for Maya, located in the grounds of a nursery with a beautiful garden inspired table. The green cut grass on the lolly bags completely won me over! A highlight for the children was the appearance of 'Magical Lady Bird' whom invited the children to join her magical rainbow rug for a magical talk and naming ceremony, all of the children received a sprinkling of magical lady bird dust (glitter) and a ladybird name! and worthy of a mention the cake!! Love the cake!!

As a child I could not sleep before our school fete -the rides, the sticky gooey toffee, laughing with friends, the dance performance and lamingtons, it was something we looked forward to all year. Luckily for my boys, their school throws a fabulously entertaining fete as well. In July, my family threw a Bollywood party in honour of my father's 60th birthday {my parents love dress up parties!}, all the women dressed in beautiful sari's, the room was a sea of colour! It was such a lovely feeling to dress in such ornate hand sewn creations and to see the creative use of costume jewellery.
The above party created and featured on It's My Party blog, is no exception. Vibrant colourful sari's, cushions and of course, the henna tattooing. Perfect party theme for the tween.

My husband wished he was invited to this party - based on Formula 1, this Ferrari race car party is hard to beat. Created my talented mum Megan {you may remember her Wizard of Oz, Make-me-up party and her Under the sea posts} for her very cute one year old boy. Decked out with Ferrari merchandise including a child-sized Ferrari remote controlled car, Ferrari caps for the pint sized guests, personalised number plates and drinks bottle to match.Can you believe the car track was made by Megan's husband-an engineering feat! Megan added so many well thought out details like the wooden cars for the children's table, fuel cans, traffic lights, old tyres and sandbags. Scissors Paper Cake assisted with the cake and sweet items, road map table runner, flags. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next!

Could this be a new trend for an Aussie BBQ? instead of Lamb - Lobster!! I love the casual vibe, with large cushions used as chairs, adult sized bibs, no cutlery and how the delicious food is thrown onto the table in an unpretentious manner for all to share. Scissors Paper Cake created this WILD party for four year old Jett. The soft colour scheme complemented his personality along with his love for all things creepy crawly. His mum, Leesa hired a Reptile man who brought snakes, turtles and even a baby crocodile for the kids to meet. This clever mum bought banana leaves which was used as a table runner and tree stumps for the children to sit on. Snakes, grubs and spider lollies were scattered on the table and each child had their own binocular and magnifying glass set.

The hamper boxes were filled with carrot and cucumber sticks in a mini white paper bag, a child-sized gourmet margarita pizza, banana, jungle juice and a sweet treat.

Leesa is the Party Queen, she not only makes her home themed from the moment you arrive at her doorstep with the cutest little details but she caters for parents as well as the children. Let me tell you, the food on offer was delicious and very generous. I hope we are invited again as she is the most gracious host!

Hello Naomi went one step further and has added her very own french macaroons and peppermint kisses to the menu and as no surprise, like everything else she bakes. they are delectable! I am smitten with the giraffe + Jett cookie ensemble above, genius!

Bonjour! Welcome! Thank you for your patience over the past couple of months. The IMPRINTABLES website is now online with new features such as online shopping, suggestions and some great new products. The inspiration for my new design was based on creating a shoppe where white washed walls invite you to peruse beautiful photographs of beautiful products. A little bit of French has been thrown into the mix {grandpere will be so pleased}. Grab a coffee, something sweet and stay a while, enjoy!

A girlfriend is having her son's party at this great venue, Sydney Park Bike Track in Erskineville. It's a dedicated bike track with traffic lights, pedestrian crossing and footpaths, my boys can't wait! Do you know any great inexpensive venues to hold a children's party?

The ultimate PIRATE SHIP!

One very clever mum got 'all hands on deck' and created this fabulous Pirate ship from recycled plywood and old packing crates. An old outdoor teak table was used to create the 'central' deck which comfortably sat 24 children. This is not only the ULTIMATE pirate ship but also great play equipment which could be used again on many summer afternoons with little pirate mates.

Decor on a shoestring budget

I helped a fellow mum with the table settings for a School Fundraiser located in the school hall. The budget was $150 for 13 tables. The inspiration came from Magnolia's Square's exquisite styling. We bought striped material from Spotlight for $10 metre. Scissors Paper Cake bottles and bottles/jars collected by mum's for centrepieces and filled them with single stem flowers. The 'sweets' table also had the same fabric as a tablecloth, Kraft wrapping paper was used to cover the not-so-pretty wall and paper doilies taped together for paper prettiness. Discarded tomato pasta sauce jars covered in Kraft and tied with twine created inexpensive vases. Best of all the night was a huge success!

My boys are not big on lollies or chocolates but icy treats are another story, they could eat ice -blocks for breakfast, lunch and dinner if possible. As found on LMNOP , Popbar located in New York, is filled with handcrafted gelato on a stick made using all natural ingredients. This would have to be their favourite place in the world!
